In this journey, Arkali bin Sohrab (Vali Khan) set out for Tabriz on behalf of Naser al-Din Shah to deliver the khulaat to the officials of the Azerbaijani government, and he wrote down the events of the journey from the date of departure from Tehran to Tabriz on the way there and back, in a literary composition and Nastaliq script. Vali Khan began this journey from Tehran on the 25th of Jamadi al-Awwal, 1266 AH, coinciding with (Farvardin 1229 AH, April 1850 AD) and after about two and a half months of travel, he arrived in Tehran in early Tir and presented a report to the king. During his stay in Tabriz, this Georgian prince visited individuals and also toured the sights of the city and its surroundings.
